We ordered 2 simple dishes a mushroom and chicken risotto and a vege risotto. The vegie one had semi cooked whole pieces of vegies he couldn't even bite into it. My risotto wasn't how I remembered it was only chicken, mushroom and rice there used to be other vegies like spinach through it but they didn't have this time. The chicken was dry. There was no taste whatsoever even lacked salt. I suspect new owners. The place was dead. The staff greeted us that was nice but that's all. Shame we spent nearly 50 bux on a tasteless meal. Not going back!
Il Ciccio Restaurant has finally got some good food again, When it first started many years age the food was fantastic, full plates and satisfying. We kept going back every month for years, when one day we found out that it had been sold and the food and servings were absolutely a disgrace. never went back to this restaurant. 2 weeks ago we had been invited to a family party and was not looking forward to the day. It all started out well with the Entrée, large serving, Main was a choice of fish or meat, I had the Fish and my wife had Meat and to our surprise, WOW it was good and filling. I look at my wife and said to her that is a big change, must be New Owners and yes, I believe it's the original owners when it first opened back in the 1980's. I am certainly going back soon. Contrats and keep the good food coming :) :) :)
Went here for a function recently. It's a large family restaurant on a huge busy intersection in Campbellfield, next door to fast food outlets, plenty of parking available. Some booths and some tables. We were the only ones there, which probably tells you something. The menu offers a range of pizza and pasta, salads, pancakes, and a few other meals and specials. They also do oysters a few different ways. My husband had oysters Kilpatrick, they come with mushrooms which is a bit odd. We asked for without mushrooms and so they also brought someone else's without mushrooms as well. They also brought one meal with the wrong sauce. Waiters were very disorganised, I think mainly very inexperienced, although well-meaning. They didn't have much clue. All the food came at different times, and seemed to take ages.I had Morton Bay Bugs which are not usually seen down here. It was probably the most expensive thing on the menu at $33. They were small bugs, about 5, in a garlic cream sauce. The menu said served with rice and veggies but they came with rice, salad and chips. They were tasty enough. The salad was a huge pile of fresh greens but had no dressing which was disappointing. My husband said his oysters were OK. The pizzas were also the usual, Organising to bring out the birthday cake and serve it was just too complicated for them altogether but we did manage it in the end and they gave us containers to take the remainder home in.I thought the prices were reasonable - our total for 4 people was $126. This included 2 red wines, 2 cokes, a beer, 1/2 doz oysters, the bugs, 1 large and 2 medium pizzas and a garlic bread. If you live out that way there's not a lot of choice, so I guess if you wanted something cheap and close it might be worth a visit for a pizza. Not on my list of places to return to though.
Had been previously last year and really enjoyed everything. This time was a horrible experience. The waitress didn't leave us alone at all night and the live singer sounded like a cat being run over. Food was nothing to rave about and the dessert was terrible! Asked the waitress if the chocolate mousse was home made, in which she replied it was. Had it last time I was there and was VERY good. The first mousse that came out looked like it had been sitting in the cabinet for over a week. The cream on top looked like old mashed potato, was yellow in colour, and was very hard to put the spoon in. I ended up getting another, but this one didn't even have any taste to it. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and definitely wont be going back there again.
