Rok - Reykjavik

Do book in advance. We managed to get the last table as a walk in about 6.30pm on a Friday. Lots of disappointments came in after us. So, the evening….. just amazing. I had the open burger black bean with jalapeño mayo, pickled cucumber, tomato and grilled pepper. Tell them you’re vegan and it comes out on vegan bread. Had it with sides of grilled asparagus and roast baby new potatoes with vegan aioli. The service was really friendly, wine and water was kept topped up. Had a buzz about the place. Right by Hallgrimskirkja, the well known church, you can’t miss it.

Last night in Reykjavik which also happened to be our anniversary. The staff were very welcoming and helped talk through the menu. The food was fantastic, a modern take on some traditional Icelandic meals. Everything was perfectly cooked and very tasty. We would have certainly returned but as it was our last night it will just remain a perfect end to a great short break. Highly recommend booking as it get busy...but for good reason.

After only 3 nights in Reykjavik we had had 3 amazing meals but this one tops them all and if we only had one meal I'd come back here. A superb selection of plates and each one quite amazing. I can also recommend the happy hour Moet Champagne with Liquorice and Cataloupe Melon. It sounds wrong but it is so right and works so well.

Delicious small dishes. Fish is perfect. I didn’t know couscous can be so delicious with some Asian twist. Creative menu well executed. Then there is the location. Friendly staff moved me to the perfect view spot, when I am already half way through my meal.
