The Golden Russet Cafe - Rhinebeck

Golden Russet Cafe is a true local treasure. Situated in the Schultzville area, just a quick drive from the Village of Rhinebeck, this establishment serves as both a cafe and a general store, offering a selection of essentials alongside unique provisions for both locals and visitors. They boast the largest selection of New York hard ciders in the region, and you should definitely ask Craig, the owner, for his expert recommendations—he's written a book on ciders, which is available for purchase at the cafe. During our visit today, we enjoyed an egg sandwich and a fried chicken sandwich, both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. We left with a bottle of Pear Cider and plan to return on a sunnier day to savor our meal on the charming porch or take food for a picnic hike.

This is a fantastic place for a laid-back brunch. The Egg and Cheese Sandwiches are delightful, and the Grilled Banana Bread is absolutely amazing!

Golden Russet Cafe is located just a short two-mile drive from the Taconic Parkway. It’s a charming country store with a delightful menu for both breakfast and lunch. We visited for breakfast with our grandsons and opted for the breakfast sandwiches, which were an excellent choice. They arrived quickly and piping hot from the griddle. We also enjoyed some freshly baked banana bread, which was delicious. The staff at Golden Russet are friendly and truly go above and beyond to ensure that you feel welcome and valued.

An incredibly serene place to enjoy a coffee and recharge. Lovely, people and delicious sandwiches. Worth the scenic drive from Rhinebeck!
