We're here while we were in Rhinelanders. it is reopened. the atmosphere is wonderful and welcoming in this picturesque historic house. someone came by to give us a roll, so we both had one. my suggestion is that the rolls are warmed as they were a little dry. we ordered two appetizers. crab and fennel crostini and the pork balls. the crostini was good, but a little thick for me, biting through because it was hard. the meatballs were delicious and delicate. I ordered the duck with a side of the kartoffels I had read. the kartoffels were super thin and crisp. very good! the duck was slightly overdue, but still very delicate and tasty! my companion ordered the portabella wellington with a side of the heavy that comes with the beef wellington, as suggested by the waitress. delicious! the salat that came with the meal was a nice mix of fresh greens and not the icky eisberg salate that they get at the root of the restaurants. we rarely order dessert, but the tirimisu sounded good, so we have ordered it. the waiting staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. we would definitely return!
Impressive wine card. every article we had was excellent! chicken artichoke entree falafel sandwich were delicious and well presented. barbara was an attentive server. we're coming back!
Finalle rheinlander has a stylish upscale restaurant. I love to come to the davenport house for Sunday brunch. they have an unusual menu with products that they usually cannot find in northwoods restaurants (shrimp and geese, huhn and waffeln, s’mores crepes).
Great food, greater service. An absolute diamond in the rough. Rhinelander is totally becoming a foodie paradise! Had the Athena Shrimp, and the crabcake was phenomenal!
