You'd think no one would find it since is hidden in a beautifu valley, but better call in advence. This usually means good food, as this is the case. Went with a large group and had plenty of food with fast service.
The only restaurant in tiny Ventola excells in heating up dishes, using tasteless prefab ingredients, as well as a most unwelcoming service: they'd rather see you go, so meals are rushed through. Thus, if you really have to stay in Ventola, go to Ribes for...dinner, stock up on crisps and cookies, or just starve for one night. In any case, do not set foot in Anna's, which is no more than a culinary joke.
I was there a few years ago with my friend Marc de Santa Maria. Restaurant Anna is well hidden in Pyrenees close to small town Ribes de Freser. They server local Spanish and traditional cuisine. The food and atmosphere was fantastic. Here, Marc shows us,...how real Spanish (sorry Catalan) man drink wine from Puron (a special type of glass wine with small, but long extra outflow) using a straight arm! Unforgeable memories!
Are good curves to climb (and go down) on a narrow road, making it difficult for the driver to drink. But what you find if you get up, it makes up for the most delicious homemade food. the specialty is in meats and sausages, but today I have taken the best cold pumpkin cream of my life. and the duck sauce, spectacular.
