This restaurant has really declined since the beginning of the year. I’m at a loss for words. I used to be a regular when the Moroccan couple owned it; they truly knew how to cook and managed everything well. Unfortunately, since the new owners took over, the quality has dropped significantly. Even the pita bread isn’t toasted as it should be, which is such a basic expectation. It’s honestly quite disappointing.
I ordered a rice bowl here. I used to visit this place frequently a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the food. However, today was a different experience — the protein seemed undercooked or perhaps not stored properly, because my stomach is really hurting and I feel nauseous (it’s also the only thing I’ve eaten today). It’s quite frustrating, to be honest.
Loved this place; it tastes so like Halal Guys. It’s so awesome to get appetizing food for such an affordable price in a generous serving! It’s a small restaurant with limited seating, but it’s one of the best restaurants around the UTD campus. Here, you can enjoy delicious halal food at a friendly price.I ordered the gyro bowl with yellow rice, potatoes, onions, and mushrooms. The white sauce is lovely, and the meat is incredible and juicy. As an Asian must to say rice is really excellent. All the bowl is unbelievably tasty for me!I am sure I will come back, and you will love it!
Probably our new go-to spot for Halal Food. It appears to be a mom/pop shop where they were extremely friendly and helpful when explaining the menu and taking our order. We (a party of 3) ended up ordering the Baba ghanoush, Mango Lassi, (3) Build your own bowls with Chicken and Gyros and the loaded cheese fries. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. I am normally not a fan of Mango Lassi at Indian restaurants because of the thickness and heaviness but their version was very light and non-orange. The Baba ghanoush was as good here as anywhere else I've ordered it. The Bowl is where it sealed the deal for me, the meat was tender and NOT DRY. That is typically hard to do with chicken and I am very selective when it comes to that. The combination of tender but flavorful meats with your choice of sides and sauces just made it very personal and delicious. We will DEFINITELY be coming back and would recommend others to do the same!
