If I do go for hot pot, I prefer Chinese all-you-can-eat style. Parking was easy and the restaurant was bright, airy, and clean. There were only a few tables occupied. A friendly young server who spoke good English seated us right away. The hot pot at this restaurant is Taiwanese style, which is quite different from Chinese or Japanese hot pot. The broth was more spicy and oily. My aunt loved her seafood hot pot that came with a side of rice. However, I was a little disappointed with my lamb hot pot as there were very few thin slices of lamb and they were tough to chew. Despite that, the portions were large, the quality was so-so, and the price was reasonable for lunch. I probably would not come back, but I heard from the staff that there is a hip crowd at night, especially on weekends. It can get quite crowded, like a zoo. However, my aunt was happy and full and she loved the experience. She wants to come back next time she's in the area. So, if you prefer not to share your hot pot, this is the place for you!
I frequent this restaurant so often that I can practically remember the entire menu! My top three favorite hotpots are Korean, stinky tofu, and beef. The seafood and curry hotpot is also quite tasty. Sometimes I like to complement my hotpot with a Hokkaido milk tea with pearls - it's incredibly delicious! I appreciate how the waitstaff refills the hotpot soups and changes the fire for you. They also provide their own dipping sauce which enhances the flavors of the food. The staff are generally very friendly and welcoming, and this is a great spot for hotpot lovers who want a more affordable option compared to other hotpot restaurants.
I wanted to try Hot Pot for the first time and discovered Boiling Point in Richmond. Even though I only speak English, I didn't have any language barrier issues here. I arrived around 7:55 pm during a busy time, got a ticket, and was seated by 8:10 pm. I ordered the Thai Fusion at the mild spice level (just right for me) with extra Enoki mushrooms, which was plenty for one person. The Thai Fusion was 50% off, making it a great deal. The service was excellent; the waitress was very polite and happily answered all my questions, even the silly ones (like explaining the sauces). The restaurant was busy, but she still took the time to help me. I left a good tip and paid in cash. The food was delicious with generous portions and high-quality ingredients. I will definitely return with friends to share this experience!
I come here almost every Saturday for my hotpot, I love foods here and also all staff are friendly. My favourite menu is Sefood Tofu, very recommended
Great spot to come for a comfort meal. This place is so popular it is absolutely packed before 8pm. It’s really worth the wait though, with many hot pots to choose from and they are all delicious. They increased the prices, but all in all, I would come back again.
