My experience at Ebisu Richmond on Friday, February 17th was fantastic. They had just launched a new menu, which included delicious new offerings like the Sukiyaki dish. I opted for the set menu, allowing me to add a side dish such as Mixed Tempura and udon noodles. The service was excellent as always, and the quality of Japanese food was top-notch.
We went here for a lunch earlier today. I was debating between this and Tokyo Joe, and mistakenly thought Ebisu would better I was wrong. We ordered Sashimi Combo B $18.50) and 2 Mega Rolls $15.50). Food was so small, one serving looked enough for a big kid or a teenager. Food was alright. Ebisu used be good way back then. Salmon sashimi was fresh, but tuna sashimi had a smell. Rolls were tiny. Food didn’t fit into a price tag. We all know about price inflation these days. We ordered after 1, and received food before 2PM to start eating. Waitress came to remind about last call. Just an average service. She didn’t ask if we liked or enjoyed the food, and no tea refill at all. I had a great difficulty flagging a waiter or waitress, and one staff was rushing to leave work. Miso soup was included for Sashimi Combo. We got it after finishing our food. I had to remind the waiter we never got the Miso soup. Staff rushed to make our soup for us. It was nice for the waiter to bring us 2 bowls of Miso soup. Sorry Ebisu, we felt so ripped off on tiny portion of food. I’d rather go eat elsewhere or get some Sushi from Price Smart nearby.
It was recommended to go to Ebisu in Richmond for lunch. So glad we went. Their lunch specials are great deal. The quality of the fish was so fresh and cut so thick. Tempura and miso soup came out nice and hot! Service was so friendly and attentive. We really can't say anything negative about this restaurant. We liked it so much, we went back.a day later.
We visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekday when it wasn't crowded. They have added a new combo to their menu, the Black Cod combo. The grilled Sablefish was absolutely delicious and juicy! The staff was polite and the food arrived quickly and piping hot. Highly recommended! Please note that the restaurant does not accept reservations on weekends.
