George's Taverna - Richmond

We went down to Steveston to make a purchase of spotted prawns and ended up having an early dinner at George's Taverna. We ordered the beef soulvaki, kalamari, spinich spanako and pita. None of the dishes were remarkable but the beef soulvaki was terrible (much overcooked and dry and the beef was mostly gristle. In retrospect we should have gone to Kisamo's Greek Taverna (further West on Moncton Street).

The previous owner was greek and the atmosphere as food was fabulous. Went in expecting the same. Awful. Expensive for what you got. Roast lamb extra extra fatty. Ended up both of us getting sick as soon as we walked home. We had different dinners as well. Threw out leftovers. So disappointing

I used to go here and love it with the previous owners. First sign no one was there at lunch time I was the only one in the restaurant the souvlaki I ordered was horrible did not taste like the delicious Greek food they used to serve there. The waiter was friendly but dressed very unprofessionally in sweat pants. He seemed bored with his work and can't blame him but he should be dressed better. The seats of the chairs were dirty and in dire need of replacement.Everything was tired.Try Taverna Gorgona for a much better Greek experience in nearby Ladner.Honestly not sure how long George's Taverna can possibly stay in business with no customers and such awful food.

A quiet, unpretentious little Greek restaurant. Great for lunch or dinner. Delicious food, at very reasonable prices. My wife and I go there regularly. They also do take-out. I personally love the Mousaka, my wife the Souvlaki. All good!

This is an informal little nook in Steveston that you might easily walk by. But it has very good food at a reasonable price. They seem to specialize in take-out, but you can eat in and the service is excellent.
