Their mango shaved ice is the bestI also tried the mango and durian mochi.Highly recommend the durian mochi. It has an acquired taste in if if you don't grow up eating durian. It's a small little shop that I almost missed as It was my first time visiting that place with my friend.Overall, it's pretty clean. Fruits are fresh.I don't remember if they take credit cards or not.It will be a huge bonus if they take credit or debit instead of cash only.I could be wrong.
Went there on the recommendation of my two daughters. The store is located on #3 Road in Richmond, very closed to Richmond Centre. The shop is small but the menu is every bit like Taiwan, so if you have not been to Taipei to try their mango shaved ice, this joint will open your eye. The mango dessert is quite fair in size with heaps of mango and vanilla ice cream covered and mixed with shaved ice. Besides mango, there are other choices like strawberry and mixed fruit, smoothies and slush all made with mouthwatering ice cream and chunks of fruit.
My friend and I had never tried Taiwanese shaved ice before, so this was a surprisingly yummy treat. It's a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a bed of ice, surrounded with fruit pieces and sweetened evaporated milk. It sounds terribly sweet and heavy, but it doesn't taste that way at all. It was very refreshing. The shaved ice was very easy to eat, and better texture than a slushy. Plus the fresh fruit is way better than a fruit cup. Then the ice cream: aromatic vanilla. Definitely not supermarket quality. It opens late, and there is a parking lot out front, but I bet it fills up really fast. Seating is good for about 25-28 people, which makes it very noisy in such a small space. Didn't get to try different desserts as there were only 2 of us.
We noticed Mango Yummy while driving down No. 3 and were encouraged to visit because the name was familiar from the Richmond Night Market. Limited off street parking is available. Although we're not fans of bubble teas and such we decided upon the mango pancake and the durian tapioca soup. Both were nice but sorry to say that this type of snack is still not our cup of tea.
