Sad to say this restaurant does not respect the country it is in. It's closed to customers but you can do takeout, although you would not know it from the Chinese only signs on the door. Too much of that in Richmond.
My friend and his mother had a wonderful dinner here a few years ago and its signature dish, German style pig knuckles, is something that they have missed since their last visit to the city. Sadly tonight was a disappointment. The size and taste of the pig knuckle has gone down significantly, and the service has also gone down. While it is clearly not a five star restaurant, the waitresses were overwhelmed with the workload and were more concerned about taking their turns for dinner. We also tried both the New York and Ribeye steaks but I really can't tell the difference, despite the ribeye is much more expensive. Honestly it is a typical Hong Kong Style cafe now with no special dish. We won't return again and I will avoid it if I am you.
Another restaurant that escaped my Review radar, as I had been dining here way before my Yelping days... This is a very established Hong Kong Style Cafe in the City of Richmond, they are famous for their German Style Crispy Skinned Ham Hock Schweinshaxe , and for every Wednesday it is on special for $17.95 comes with Garlic Toast, Soup of your choice, Main dish, drink . I find that their Schweinshaxe here to be very moist, more so then most places I had been to, also the skin is really crispy and not greasy. So even after finishing the who piece of meat you don't have that heavy feeling! Tip: try asking for Black Pepper Sauce instead of the regular sauce, I find that it tightens the whole flavour scale! Today we also had the Fillet of Sole with Mushroom Cheese Sauce, with a generous portion of Sole not Bassa Fillet , the fish has a very nice texture and also very flavourful, the creamy mushroom cheese sauce compliments well with the fish. We also request to have a side of their famous Black Pepper Sauce to accompany the steamed rice vegetables. This is on their daily lunch special menu and it is only for $13.95 you also get Soup, Garlic Toast, Main dish, drink, add $1.00 for cold drink . I also noticed that they have added more Asian Chinese dishes to accommodate the ever demanding taste of the customers! Service is the no nonsense type, very fast, if you are in town and need to have lunch in a limited time, this will be a great place for you!
I hear so many people saying ,this is one of the best Hong Kong Style Cafe in Richmond ,it happened girlfriend #3 stay with her friends place for few days ,before she leaving back to U.K ,the cafe is located next to the Sea Fortune Restaurant . YES ! the parking is a nightmare ! the decor and the environment do not feel clean ,and well come at all ,but the staff is very friendly ,,the menu items is Hong Kong style , from Rice to spaghetti ,sandwich ,salad ,,stir fried noodle ,also the Hong Kong style beverages , the hot tea is excellent , too many selections ! my grilled Beef tongue with pepper sauce and spaghetti , may be my personal expectation too high ,it taste very unique ??? like gone bad sausages ,I do not know , but my girl friend love it so much ,she ate almost half my plate ?? !!!!!!!, she order the Shrimp Egg Rice Noodle , excellent flavor , I really do not know how to write is it bad or is it good , one things for sure ,very poor quality of meat ,it is not terrible food , just a comfort food , not expensive at all ,,well .less I tried it once ,that is good enough for me ! if you around the area ,drop in try it out ,you may like it ! But PLEASE do not order the Beef Tongue !! you will thank me for it !
