The duck in the lettuce wraps dish was seasoned well and full of flavor. My family agreed that this was one of the best Peking ducks they have had in a long time.
The owner of the restaurant is very attentive and pays attention to detail, so the service was not an issue. As someone from out of town, I have been repeatedly recommended this restaurant for their delicious clay pot rice dishes, marinated duck, and salt and pepper squid. I would suggest ordering the clay pot dishes in advance when making a reservation because the restaurant can get very busy. The food is exceptional in terms of quality and taste, much better than the generic food served at many other restaurants. Despite being busy, the food does not suffer in quality. The large number of customers dining here every day is a testament to the fact that this is a fantastic restaurant.
After watching Trolls at Marine Drive Cineplex, I decided to have a late night dinner around 9:30 pm. Sing Yee offers a special late night menu exclusively for customers arriving after 9 pm. If you spend over $20 on food, you can enjoy a complimentary large bowl of congee. Their fried rice is said to be the best in Richmond, with each grain perfectly cooked and not overly oily. The rice doesn't clump together either. The service is efficient, as expected in Chinese restaurants. However, don't anticipate particularly friendly service.
Good choice for food. The boss lady very sociable Food has 'wok hey '.<br/ <br/ Update:<br/ Have not been there for years and decided to give it a try to dinner. Very satisfied with food; understaffed and so so service. <br/ Had the Peking duck, this was done perfectly no fat or meat attached to the skin. The lettuce wrap was good too. <br/ <br/ Will visit again.
Very solid “old fashioned” Cantonese cooking. I’ve missed their take on staples like Congee so I’m glad that satisfaction of a craving is but a short commute away!
