The chicken dishes are good but getting very expensive, I had Salt baked chicken lunch set and asked for dark meat (additional $1.50 i think) Total $18.50 ? that’s too expensive for lunch.I go there often and one of the waiter is ALWAYS very rude, she should quit if she does not like the job or boss and should not release her unhappiness at the customers.
Going to Richmond can be an overwhelming experience, as trying to find a place to eat makes my head spin! There are food options everywhere, and I never know what's good unless someone suggests or recommends a place. Lol we came here on a recommendation that the soy sauce chicken here was delicious, so this review is only for the free range soy sauce chicken. The dish itself for a whole chicken was $32, which we thought was quite expensive. The chicken itself was cut well and didn't look so scrawny like most free range chicken. It still had that chewier texture than normal chicken, but was much meatier than normal. The skin was nice and smooth, and the soy flavour was delicious! They serve it with the standard side of sweet soy, and also ginger scallion oil which I found odd and took away from the soy flavour (not required I would say). All in all a great dish, but not something you would eat normally due to the price.
Food was okay, stir beef with rice noodle is about $10.99 $13.99 elsewhere. Here they charged $18.00 and 50 cents for take out container. Too expensive! Waitress is slow and poor customer services. NOT recommended.
I had their Free Range Hainan Chicken Meal with soup and upgraded to yellow oil rice for an extra dollar. The meal cost $15.85 before tips. This place is decent and serves traditional Cantonese food including steamed tilapia and has so many types of chicken available. The presentation was good. The soup was delicious with pork bones and meat and tasted very homemade and hearty. The yellow oil rice was soft, fresh and flavorful. The free range Hainan chicken was quite overly salty but otherwise had good flavour and came with some veggies and roasted peanuts.Overall, good chicken and rice but just a bit too salty taking away from the enjoyment of the chicken flavor.
