Tsubaki Japanese Cuisine - Richmond

I have been to various Izakaya restaurants and tried Sashimi from places like Guu and Torarenbo, which I found to be more enjoyable and fresher. However, that doesn't mean this restaurant does not have good dishes. Similar to what other reviewers have mentioned, the Okonomiyaki here is outstanding - possibly the best I have ever had and very filling. Overall, it is not a bad place to eat, and according to other reviewers, it seems to cater to late-night diners. In Richmond, where there is strong competition, it is important to stand out.

I have tried Izakaya and fresh sashimi from other restaurants (Guu, Torarenbo, to name a few) that were better value and fresher. However, that's not to say that this place doesn't have some good dishes. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the Okonomiyaki is amazing. It's the best I've ever had, and very filling. Overall, it's not a bad place - and according to other reviewers, the late-night hours are great. In Richmond, though, there is a lot of competition, so you really need to stand out.
