Big Herm's Kitchen - Richmond

This was my first time at Big Herm?s and I will be back whenever I?m craving soul food. They?re one of the few places open on Monday?s which is a nice perk and the food is great for the most part. I ordered the variety basket with mac and cheese,collard greens, and mashed sweet potatoes. Everything was so good I?d taken a couple bites before I remembered to snap a picture. The cornbread was so sweet and buttery and the Mac and cheese was baked really well. The greens were alittle heavy on the vinegar which I don?t mind but if you don?t like vinegar don?t go with these. I also ordered the wings which were on a special today and they weren?t my favorite. The Buffalo sauce wasn?t the traditional taste I wasexpecting, but they were still okay as long as you don?t go in with that expectation. I placed my order and had my food in about 20 minutes. Overall, great experience!

This is not the first, fifth or tenth time I?ve ordered from this restaurant. And every time I receive my food it?s perfectly made. My go to meal is the Grilled Shrimp Salad and the Garlic Parmesan Wings. Awesome customer service. Food prepared in 30 minutes or less. Perfect spot to grab comfort food on the go.

I went here on my lunch break. Both the cook and server was nice with taking my order and getting my food out to me quickly. I ordered the catfish sub the bbq wings with Mac n cheese. Will be returning soon and letting others know about this place. It is not a dine in spot only pick up.

Soggy catfish and completely inedible. I would suggest poking holes in the box to preserve the food. A waste of money.

Ordered with my office for lunch today. Everyone else seemed to like theirs but mine was awful. Buffalo chicken sandwich (came as strips on a bun, not a breast which was not my understanding of the meal) and sweet potato fries. The sandwhich was quite salty and both were BONE DRY. The ends of the fries were hard. Seemed like maybe everything was overcooked. The prices were very reasonable so I may muster up the courage to try again someday, maybe not so soon.
