Carena's Jamaican Grille - Richmond

The food at this restaurant was fantastic. I really enjoyed the Jamaican flavor. I ordered oxtail and curry chicken with a side of rice, peas, and cauliflower. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent. I will definitely be coming back when I am in town again.

I wasn't at her location since covid restrictions where raised, but it's a new year, I thought why not. I ordered a large order of ochsen, as they are in the rule the best in this side of the city. let me tell them how the ochs, where extremely fat. the tear was clumpy and with lima buzzing. the cabbage had a whole 1/8 of a green pfeffer disc in it. not to mention the ochsen, where not boiled to a tenderness that it know for a location. help me if she sells the load. Does anyone know?

Ordered the Oxtail for myself and Island Chicken for my wife. I like Jamaican food, missed patronizing a Jamaican food truck downtown. Carena's is *way* better than any other Jamaican food I've tried. Oxtail was tender and flavorful, served with rice and beans and seasoned cabbage. I've always loved Jamaican cabbage, never really impressed with the rice and beans, but Carena's rice and beans get seasoned with the gravy and I ate every bit of it. It's spicy, but not right away, first bite you know this is good, halfway through, you know it's spicy. Wife really liked the Island Chicken with its' ginger gravy.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and I highly recommend trying the Rasta Pasta.
