Jalapenos Mexican Grill - Richmond

Our waitress recognized me as a regular from the other place, and when she mentioned it, I realized she used to serve me there. All the food was excellent. My daughter ordered carnitas, and I had a taste—very tender and flavorful. I went with the beef Chile Relleno, and it was fantastic. The restaurant isn’t very large—just 4-5 booths and a small bar to sit at—but the service was great, the food came out quickly, and everything was packed with flavor. I would highly recommend this place!

Great place for a quick bite, although the dining area is a bit small. My burrito was tasty, and the veggies were fresh. However, the menu claimed the burritos were 12 inches long, but both mine and my friend's were closer to 7 inches. While the portion was still decent, the menu was misleading.

- The chorizo and queso dip was mostly chorizo, with very little queso mixed in. - The chips were burnt (please see the attached photo). I’ve made these chips before and know the importance of timing, but these were definitely overcooked and should not have been served. - While it’s a minor issue, I requested that the burrito be cut in half, but it wasn’t, even though the other special instructions were followed. Overall, this place has a lot of potential, and I don’t want to give them a low rating over a few mistakes—especially since the food was mostly incredible. The Loco Burrito and Chicken Chimichangas were delicious! I truly believe this place offers amazing food at a great price. If only it were closer to me, especially after my experience with Lalo's!
