Maxim Bakery - Richmond Hill

We got a chestnut cake from Maxim last night and once we cut it, we realized that the banana had gone bad and it had turned dark brown and tasted awful. We had to throw the cake away. Would not buy from this place again.

Would not recommend the lobster pasta. Quite tasteless needed seasoning or some flavour? Pasta was also overcooked.Service was incredibly slow (understaffed? . Had to ask repeatedly for cutlery/plates/drinks. Seems like servers were running around. ??‍

We ordered a birthday cake and Maxim completely missed our order. Not only the lady owner and staff(with Mandarin accent) did not apologize for their oversight, they casually ask us to randomly pick up something off the shelf (which is half empty) and they said rudely that they can give us 10% discount. With food allergy, we cannot just randomly pick something to settle. Maxim is very IRRESPONSIBLE. We're extremely disappointed with their service and will never order from them again!

Got a fresh fruit cake. Then saw a strawberry only version on display, they switched it for me! Very nice of them. The cake was not too sweet and extremely light! My family loved it!! (Paper decorations we added ourselves)

Caution: their menu has been simplified so there are no “a la carte” items, and everything is a “set”, and as a result everything is quite pricey. Desserts still top notch.
