Tokyo House Restaurant - Ridgecrest

The food is consistently delicious. The staff is super friendly and the environment is great.

We happen to stop by on our way to southern CA. Based on the reviews, we were expecting great food. Unfortunately, we might have ordered the wrong food because we did not get the 4 star food. The sushi rolls was all broken apart. And the sesame chicken looks and tastes worst than buffet style foods. I'm rating this a three for their service and if we happen to be around again, we'll give their teppanyaki a try since Everyone that walked away seems to be satisfied.

I was passing through Ridgecrest after hiking, so I was experiencing post hike hunger (iykyk). Decent reviews here so I decided to give it a try. I called in a pick up order of the soba teriyaki noodles with shrimp and chicken. I get there to pick it up and they up charged me 10 dollars for the extra meat, which is only slightly less than the price of the original meal itself. I was too hungry to argue about it, so I just paid it and left. If the food was good, I probably just let that lie, but alas, the food was flat out awful. Every single component of this meal was overcooked or burnt. The shrimp were overcooked to the point of rubbery; the rice had lost its integrity; the chicken was dry; the noodles were stale. The teriyaki sauce was burnt and oddly thick. There was way too much teriyaki sauce as well, so it was this awful combination of everything being dry/overcooked and yet thickly sauced. Fundamentally, just awful all around. Avoid at all costs.
