Truly Sichuan Bā Jiāo - Ridgewood

The girls running the show are friendly and super nice. Food is excellent. She even offered to add rice cakes to the menu for next time since I asked her for this Shanghai dish in a Sichuan centered restaurant! Our favorites shredded lamb with hot green peppers, Crispy Chongqing Spicy Chicken, and spicy fish.Food: 5/5

Food was really good. Service was good. But there is a mandatory 20% service charge for parties of 4 or more. This is not on the menu, but it appears on the bill. When asked, the server said it was the tip ....Food: 5/5

Sorry to say when the former owner Rene left she took the flavor with her!! For the almost five years we've been going there, I have gotten the shredded pork in garlic sauce, it was the best. Anyone I brought there that tried it loved it. Have been there twice since Rene sold out and both times the dish I loved so much Truly disappointed. Very little flavor. We dined in and tried take out. Same disappointing results either way. Their chicken lo mein used to be awesome. That now has absolutely ZERO flavor. And their dishes aren't cheap either. Their soup dumplings are still good. But now it is just your run of the mill Chinese restaurant where every dish tastes the same. Goodbye Truly, thanks for the memories....
