We wanted traditional Austrian food, and our hotel receptionist called ahead to ensure they were open. (We were guests at Der Kaiserhof, which I'd also recommend!) They seemed alert to us being the ones they'd been called about. Service was very good, the food was very good, and I enjoyed the charm of the decor. Recommend! We'd go back!
We arrived in Reid at almost 9:00 on a Sunday night. Most restaurants are closed on Sundays. Our hotel desk clerk called Platzl and they said they would stay open just for us. We had a typical Austrian meal of Knudel soup and Wienerschnitzel. The restaurant is very casual with very old decor. It was the perfect place to have our last meal in Austria.
