The location is always very beautiful here. Quiet, some minutes outside the village, so it is really quiet and you have a great view of the mountains. On a sunny day the terrace is really nice. The new management offers Italian food. I had a tomato salad that was good. As the head we had pizza that was good, the pasta was okay, but not great. Tiramisu was nothing special. Total average feed. You have a good wine on offer. Service is not really good. The table was dirty when you arrived. I had to wait long before I was served, the staff was not very attentive. And it wasn't a busy day. I hope the new owner can improve the food and service as it is a very beautiful place.
The New Bergsonne Hotel and Bergsonnese Sicilian Ristorante. Grüezi: I approached the mountain sun with very mixed feelings that we had come to the very fine hotel and restaurant of Willy Camps and Dorley Stalder Camps for over 2 decades. They sold it and it opened a month ago with new owners, new employees and a total change to the food. Sicilian cuisine, served cafe style, has replaced the highly valued slow cooking very gourmet, highly creative fine Swiss cuisine with an occasional Asian accent). Willy Camps is no longer at the front door, on the terrace and chats with all guests during dinner. Dorley is absent from the kitchen she will no longer come after dinner to receive numerous awards for dinner that are equivalent to putting on a large opera. Only Dorley's performance is better than a big opera. The “new” mountain sun divided the food from the separately managed hotel. Breakfast is no longer included in the room. T So. What has replaced these unique and wonderful people? Answer: different people, but also unique, and also wonderful. Alessandro, the man who runs the dining room that has lived on earth in exactly all countries, with a focus on Sicily and Switzerland, is charming and attentive. If you like to try a variety of Swiss and Italian wines through the glass, it simply makes it Ebullient, In a word, describes the mood of your Swiss guide. For those who enjoyed visits here. It is completely different, but the core is very familiar Of course the best view on the planet has not changed. The best of Suisse and Italia in one place at THe Bergsonne. Who knew the hotel rooms were a bit splashed with more elevated soaps and such, mountain sun embroidered towels. And finally a easy to remember Wifi password Two dozen wines on the glass, several of Italia and Sicilia. Many from Switzerland. All inexpensive, especially according to Swiss standards. The menu offer is Sicilian and somewhat limited until the season begins in July. Dorley's frames that they used to post their menu that are changed daily empty. I appreciate these four stars, not five for a few reasons. At first they have just opened, and there is always room for improvements with a new operation. Secondly, it is expected that the menu will be extended when the high season arrives soon, so that I could not experience the entire range of the cook. Thirdly, the reception was very slow to respond to my email requests. The, along with an ATM-like machine at the front door, which could apparently be used for checkin, instead of a living person at the reception was no improvement. There is nothing like the warm and friendly welcome to come up the mountain and get a big hello from Willy Camps, with it show you around the hotel. An ATM-like machine was a shock, and almost knocked one or two stars in my rating. Bye
This restaurant has superb food which is original and beautifully presented and views to take your breath away. Friendly helpful staff . I’d go back in a heartbeat.
We were touring the country for 7 days and six dinners. The quality value and most important the taste was by far the best. Personal friendly and professional attention of Willy the owner made it unforgotten experience for us
TripAdvisor has this as number 2 in Rigi Kaltbad wrong, Bergsonne is number 1 than the other restaurant in another city down in the valley! High quality food hidden about 7 minutes walk from the railway station in Rigi Kaltbad. The up is worthwhile for the beautiful evening view over the Lake Lucerne below and the mountains beyond, including Pilatus, if it is a hot summer, you usually get a flash show over the high glaciers to watch. Menu concentrates on small selection and tasting style menu. Wine selection is good, cheese board is exceptional and worth keeping some space back even if they bring the huge board. Book in advance, do not expect to eat late. If you want a table against the balcony with the best views, please ask in advance. Service very good and friendly, we could not mistake it. Be prepared to deal with some Swiss-German translation, there is no tourist menu in English or Chinese here: If the weather is not so good, the interior is traditionally wood cladding and large wood cladding everywhere. Happy food and look forward to the return. Mr Jim
