I witnessed over a dozen health hazards while there and decided I can't work at a place that easily can get someone very sick. The fillings for strudels sitopen on the floor for days, I refrigerate my things one open! Food over a week old still being used. Dirty kitchen where no onewears gloves and long hair not wearing a net. Gravy sitting out hours to cool instead of in an ice bath. Between that and herbuying sourdough bread bread from Trader Joe's and putting it in her bags to pass it off as hers was a step to far for me. Eatthere at your own risk
We absolutely love Dagmar's. They have some of the best pastries, brotchen, and schnitzels in the Albuquerque area. Everything is always fresh and super delicious, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Have a strudel for breakfast and a schnitzelsandwich for lunch and you'll think you're in Germany.
This place is great, and the breakfast schnitzel was incredible. I actually really like the German with New Mexico flare. great pastries and bread. My only complaint is the fruit strudels: They are way overstuffed with filling. there's nearly a whole jarof filling in one serving.
Service was great. Actual pastry was great. But the filling of the strudels is goopy and gross and artificial tasting. Think canned pie filling. ???? I liked the cinnamon rolls and coconut macaroons alot
Dagmar's offers excellent German pastries and savory foods. I particularly recommend the cherry strudel. I also like the schnitzel brotchen (schnitzel sandwich) with German potato salad and spicy mustard. If one is looking for some German-NM fusion, try the schnitzel breakfast special that includes a tasty brown sauce over potatoes, schnitzel, and eggs. The jagerschnitzel also very good. In addition to take out for the meals and pastries, you can find a small assortment of German groceries and sausage products.
