We were warmly welcomed by the brother that takes care of the dining area and brings his brother's traditional agriturismo/Marche fare to the table. Abundant antipasti, 2 very nice primi and a secondo were all very good and surprisingly the family wine is really excellent (ask for the Petit Verdot if there is any left, otherwise the Cabernet is quite good). Well worth the trip and the price can't be beat- 22 euros all inclusive when I went. Only open on weekends as the family all work keeping up the vines, olive trees, vegetable garden etc. which must keep them very busy during the week.
This restaurant was recommended to me by friends who live locally. Suffice to say, I've been back several times during my 2 week trip as the food is extraordinary! I received a warm welcome at this family run farm restaurant, together with a variety of delicious dishes. My personal favourites include the stuffed olives which are excellent; fluffy polenta with a rich ragu sausages; organic pumpkin sensational lamb reared on the farm last but not least, a powerful aniseed liquor a little of which added to the coffee gives it a real kick! The host, Attilo goes out of his way to make every guest feel at home, speaking a little of several languages, including good English (fortunately for me)! His brother, Missimo, is creative in the kitchen produces excellent seasonal food from the organic produce from the farm. I can recommend Agriturismo Iervasciò unreservedly hope to return again to sample their summer menus!
We went to Iervascio in May, when they weren't really open yet for the season. They really worked with us to make our visit spectacular. The operation is run by two brothers. Massimo is the cook and runs the kitchen and the inn. Attilio runs the farm with their father and makes the wine. We have visited agriturismi for twenty years in Italy and have watched as they have become an excuse for a country hotel. Iervascio is not! Though it is on a hill looking down to the sea two miles away, this is a working farm. The Gianetti family welcomes you into their home and shares good food, wine and company with their guests. We felt like family guests as their children welcomed our three year old grandson into their play. On short notice, Massimo walked through his garden and came back with a wonderful selection of veggies to make a feast for our vegetarian son and family. He made sure to remind me that my carnivorous soul would be rewarded the next night with a porchetta feast prepared in the wood fired oven. Attilio makes a wonderful wine of the area and took as much pleasure from sharing it with us as we did in drinking it. The one night they couldn't feed us, they booked us into a wonderful seafood trattoria in a nearby town. This is not the place for those who wish to rest by a pool, ride horses or play tennis. But, for those who wish to immerse themselves to the local life of one of the most beautiful areas in Italy, it is without peer. We cannot wait until we can again return to Iervascio.
