Feedback gevenService was ok, but the food was lacking. I have never had an Eggs Benedict with an untoasted english muffin. If that's the was it is normally served, it was a mushy mess (Crab Benedict). I did have an issue that I didn't bring up at the time since we were there for a party and didnt want to dampen the mood. I am a huge believer that my change is mine to do what I want with. I can give it back to the server as an additional tip, on top of the 20% that was already added to our tab, or keep it. It's my money. It really irks me when the server never brought my roughly $3 change after the 20% tip. I never said keep the change. I had planned on giving it to him, but the fact he just kept it irked me. It's not the amount of money...it's the principle that he assumed it was his.
Alessandra was fantastic on her customer Service. She was also very knowledgeable in her menu ingredients and drinks. The owner Mary Lou and Judith were very hospitable and accommodated my food allergies as best as he could. The inside of the facility is clean upbeat and fun. I would be coming back again soon. Thankful and happy to support small business owners.
So its Friday night I drove 30 minutes to this spot. I am seated and then told that they have run out of food at 6 pm on a Friday night!!!! and nobody I mean nobody was in there. all they had was premade sandwich mixes gross and cold salads. that was it I dont know what to say except very disappointed in my experience. I wouldn't waste my time going there again theres too many great restaurants that want to serve folks. places that dont run out of food at 6 pm on a Friday. they didn't even try to make it up to us. the waiter said sorry im so disappointed for you guys. it was so weird! the whole experience was just weird and lack luster. the interior is cold stale and boring its white walls w one giant cheesy picture of grapes. its bad. I had such a bad experience its nothing at all like portrayed on the instagram page. I was expecting alot more. just sad. oh and to make it all worse not one of the staff was wearing a mask despite the state mandate. this place is just so poorly managed and run. ive never seen anything like it
We visited this restaurant for the first time, drawn in by their Yelp reviews highlighting the mimosa flights. Unfortunately, we discovered they no longer offer those, which was quite disappointing. The brunch menu was somewhat limited, and it struck us as odd that every brunch dish came with a side salad. While the food was tasty, we found it to be on the pricier side—our total for three people was around $106. On a positive note, the overall service was good.
To make matters worse, we ordered loaded tater tots as an appetizer, but after waiting 10 minutes, the server informed us they were out of tater tots and could substitute baby potatoes instead. We didn’t complain, but when the dish arrived, the baby potatoes were incredibly undercooked—seriously, they were snapping when we bit into them. Quite disappointing overall. I’m giving this place 2 stars solely for our server, who was attentive and pleasant, although his food recommendations missed the mark. At least the ice cream emporium across the street saved the evening, as we left Matter of Taste still hungry. Five stars to the ice cream emporium for satisfying our cravings! Back to the drawing board, MoT.
