Feedback gevenWe stayed here recently visiting for a wedding in central Oxford. The pub itself was nice, typical country pub with a good range of drinks and a varied menu, including specials. The food itself was ok. I went for a cod burger, followed by some cheesecake. Both were good, did the job but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit for the food. Me and my other half actually stayed in the pub for two nights. We had one of the smaller rooms in the annex whilst our friends had one of the larger ones above the pub dining area. The room was very tired, could do with a a lick of paint, a new mattress, and definitely a bathroom refit. The bathroom was pretty grim, some mould here and there, grimy tiling and just a general lack of cleanliness, or at least it didn't look clean, it could have been the wear and tear that also added to the look that made it feel unclean. The walls were also paper thin and at times it felt like the cars outside were in the room, as well as the couple next door! The location is lovely though, nice green fields and quintessential english country side. It was cheap, at least for Oxford anyway, but if visiting again I would probably just stay in a holiday inn closer to town and maybe pop in for a drink...if I could be bothered. The staff were all extremely nice and very accommodating despite it being very busy, they were very attentive. With a little bit of work this place could be very nice, just a shame I had to visit it prior.
