My buddy brought me a bottle of Yamasaki 12 yr old single malt which I drank sparingly the time the bottle retailed for $50/bottle. When the bottle was running low I went in w/the intent of buying another bottle. By then the price had jumped to $85.00. Now I can't even find this anymore except online w/exorbitant prices. This use to be available but the 25 yr old Yamasaki was named the No 1 single malt in the world selling for 1,000,000 yen (at the time roughly $9,600). Ever since the demand for Yamasaki products has been off the charts (supply demand)
The manager Keisha was really helpful and very nice! She helped me with looking up a particular bottle and made some recommendations. Susan was also very nice and friendly and made some future recommendations for different bourbons. All in all it was a very great experience and they have a lot of really good barrel picks.
I love my local Binny's. The parking isn't the best but the store is close enough that it's always on the way if my fiancé and I need a quick hostess/birthday/anniversary gift. The selection of beer, wine, tequila, and even sake is amazing! They also have an indoor cigar humidor, if that's your thing. The prices are competitive for specialty drinks and wines. I just don't recommend coming in to buy Coors Light or Modelos, which you could get for cheaper at your local Target or Jewel. Overall, if you're looking for some underground, specialty craft beer, you'll probably find it here!
Keisha doing Curbside pickup was extremely rude and disrespectful. Love the store, did not like her
ONE BOURBON, ONE SCOTCH, ONE BEER The prices aren 't the best, but the broad variety of adult beverages is tough to beat. Seeking a suitable birthday gift for my old man, I knew I 'd find just the thing at this Binny 's in Elmwood Park. Specialty liquors is what they tout themselves on, and you can buy all manner of boozy gift sets and exotic bottles from all over the world. It 's not as big as the location in Bolingbrook (a massive, 3 story alcohol emporium), and this location on North Ave doesn 't have the best traffic flow. In fact, it can get downright maddening when trying to turn into/get out of the cramped parking lot. There 's a decently sized humidor inside to the far right, although it 's normally locked you 'll need to flag down an employee if you want to check out their smoke selection. On busier days/weekends, there 's usually a sales rep handing out free samples of Smirnoff or whatever. Binny 's beer fridge has lots to choose from, but be aware that almost nothing is discounted. In fact, you can find cheaper wine beer at your local Jewel, Target, CVS, or gas station. They 've got nice stuff here, not cheap stuff. Point in case: 12 pack of Michelob Ultra Binny 's: $10.99 12 pack of Michelob Ultra Target: $8.99 Near the checkout lines, there 's a small assortment of birthday and celebratory greeting cards for those oh **** we forgot dad 's birthday moments. I 'm glad we were able to make this visit a 1 stop shop, in being able to buy a card, a bottle of Sambuca, and a quartet of cigars. TL;DR I try not to make a habit out of coming here, unless it 's the holidays and I don 't know what else to buy for a white elephant gift exchange. Truly, you can get less expensive beer wine at your local gas station. Then again, I 'm pretty sure Thornton 's doesn 't carry Belvedere vodka.
