This was the worst dining experience I've ever had, and I typically find it hard to be disappointed by fast food. First of all, the prices are ridiculous—$9 for a single hotdog and a small serving of fries, and the accompanying salad was inedible. The hotdog itself tasted terrible; I can’t believe you can mess that up! To top it off, the waitress was extremely rude, treating us like we were idiots and even threw the menu on the counter. Thankfully, we’re not locals, and I can guarantee we will never return.
Wow! The clams are absolutely worth the price—every bite features tender meat from belly to strip, and they’re served fresh. I was really impressed and will definitely return to sample more from the menu. (And the tartar sauce was homemade!)
The food is excellent. The burgers are made from real ground beef, and the portions are generous. We opted for takeout, and the service was fast.
I grew up in Riverside Albert and often visited the Red Roof restaurant. When I was back in the area for an exhibition, I was eager to return. However, I ordered take-out and was told to wait outside so I wouldn’t mess up their seating. I've never felt so unwelcome and unwanted in any restaurant before. There's a big "For Sale" sign in front of the place, and my advice to the new owners is to replace the rude staff at the counter if they want customers to return. If you're on the 114, I recommend skipping this disappointing spot and driving on to Alma to avoid being treated poorly.
