This place is one if the best Mexican Asian fusion spot in the IE. The Ninja Fries and Ninja Burrito are amazing. Parking is okay but worth it. They also have the Death Taco Challenge. If you finish the taco you get your name on their Wall of Flame.
Famous for their Death Tacos!!! Don't try it unless you hella live supahot! The rest of the food is tasty...This place is open late night early morning s till 0300! Perfect for those Finals nights at the college....
One of the rare exceptions of fusion foods executed really well. Look beyond the novelty and you’ll be graced with good eats. I’ve had the Ninja Cali Burrito, Ninja Fries, D-Bowl, Ninja Chicken Tacos, and even the Death Taco here, but I’ll save the details on that monstrosity for the other location’s review page. If I remember right, Genkiyaki’s media state that they use a teriyaki sauce. I’ve either been betrayed too often by inauthentic teriyaki sauce, or this isn’t teriyaki sauce at all. It’s not particularly soy sauce heavy and rather sweet and spicy in the literal sense, not the popcorn chicken dipping sauce sense. It reminds me a bit of galbi/kalbi marinade! The fries are seasoned almost like spicy BBQ chips, and are still even tossed in this seasoning rub while being laced with other sauces and toppings for the Ninja Fries. The bowl had a large portion of meat to rice amazingly. There was no skimping around here on any of the items! The tacos are a bit pricey though and not fantastic. Get tacos at more authentic joint, unless you’re jumping on the challenge. The only knock I can think of is that the flavour profile is very similar across the menu items, and the main difference between them is the choice of carb delivery. I think I prefer the burrito best. Also, there is a bit of heat in each item so if you’re not used to eating spice at all, expect just under sriracha levels of spice. Friendly, quick service! The interior is basic and modern, with a wall showcasing the death taco challengers. It reminds me a bit of a coffee shop and there’s plenty of seating around for a group. You might get to spectate someone taking on the challenge as well and get to see if you want in on the action! Definitely must try this joint. I wish it were closer to me so I can come more frequently!
Food was actually good. Food is a fusion of japanese and mexican. Portions are actually really good for the amount you pay. I would recommend this place because it has one of the better chicken bowls in riverside. You get a free taco and a drink when you post their flyer on social media.
