The bone marrow with toast was so good and worth the money. You get so much bone marrow for the price you pay! We also came during happy hour so drinks were half off and tasted delicious. The fries were also good ? but can definitely feed more than 2 people. I can?t wait to come back!
The Salted Pig continues to be one of the best spots in Downtown Riverside to enjoy a creative, flavorful menu with a well-curated rotating list of craft beers. The new space near the Mission Inn is comfortably modern with a spacious indoor two-level urban dining room and bar along with a small outdoor seating area in the pedestrian-only area of the Mission Inn Historic District. We enjoyed their Sunday brunch which includes an eclectic mix of international tastes along with traditional brunch and breakfast options like Coconut Crusted French Toast and their Full Breakfast of eggs, bangers and baked beans. Our party chose the excellent Black Lentil Dosa with Turmeric Potatoes, Maple Tamarind Jam, and Mint Raita along with their famous Chilaquiles with Pork Belly Chicharones, Cascabel Salsa and Citrus Crema. For comfort food, try their Chicken Fried Chicken with Cheesy Latkes and Country Gravy. Plan for a nap after that Southern-inspired feast!
I loved the pig but I hadn?t been there since they moved to Main Street and I moved to Arizona , I don?t think I?ll be back. The Pigs menu is now far more limited, especially their burger (2 options) and beer menu, which to me was the draw. With this minimalist menu has come a near doubling of prices. I had a burger(smaller than I remembered) and shoestring fries along with a beer. My companion had a salad, beets side and 2 glasses of wine for $100. I regret having chosen to eat here based upon my previous visits with the great options available now.
Last time I ate at The Salted pig was in 2019 when it was still at the old spot. A few years and a new location later, the place hasn't skipped a beat. The atmosphere at the new location was casual yet refined, but not pretentious. The appetizers and entries were just as delicious as I remembered and the drinks were also on point. Staff were friendly and happy to answer questions about the menu, drinks or the general area. The one (minor) downside is it can get pricey pretty quick. I'm not saying a person on a budget shouldn't or can't eat here, but ordering a variety of items can rack up the bill pretty quickly. With so many drinks to choose from and seasonal dishes on the menu, it's tempting not to splurge a bit though right?!? Happy eating!
