We had an early Mother’s Day meal there and it was fantastic. The cheese and onion pie was perfect, just my kind of cheese, and plenty of it. The Steak pudding in suet contained plenty of real steak, and was gorgeous, and the Burger was scrumptious served on a lovely bread. Chips, peas and mushy were all really good. Then the sweets, black cherry cheesecake on a crumbly base and Eton mess. Delicious. Needless to say we booked another visit in three weeks. Five star.
Excellent food and service. Great value for money, especially the Sunday dinner. I would recommend to book for a weekend. Having not been to The Gallows in a while, I was really pleased with everything. We had a child with us but was only given a Sunday menu. When asked if they had a menu for children, they were more than happy to accommodate. Will definitely be returning.
My partner and her family were there on 18th march, lovely food, lovely staff service was good although the dessert was a little slow. I don't mind pets as long as they are on the floor and not on the seats at table height. May go back, don't know.
I had a fantastic meal today at the Gallows. The lobster ravioli was exceptional, filled with sun-dried tomatoes, wrapped in Parma ham, and served on a lovely bed of pesto. The staff were incredibly friendly, smiling, and efficient. It was the best meal I've had in a while, and I will definitely be going back!
