Alan was a great host and the house was beautiful. He was very helpful and sensitive to our needs, from 1 year old son. we'll be back next time.

Charming and welcoming with so much history! Loved the breakfasts. They even shared their home made granola french toast casserole recipes.

My girlfriend and I were extremely disappointed with this bed and breakfast!!! We planned to spend Labor Day weekend here as a quick get-a-way from DC. We arrived late Friday evening and was presented with some cheese and wine. As we were drinking the wine we noticed there were dead gnats floating in our glass. My girlfriend actually had one in her mouth. Upon further inspection of the wine bottle, we noticed numerous dead gnats floating in the actual bottle itself. The Melon room that we were placed in was extremely hot and had a strong musty odor. There was a guest staying in the room next to us that told me she tried to help us out prior to our arrival by spraying a deodorizer in our room. The next morning my girlfriend went down to check out the breakfast only to find that the food contained gnats. We were so discussed that we left to find food elsewhere. Lastly, the room that I booked stated that it had a private bathroom, however it turned out that we had to share a bathroom with three other guests. After being extremely disgusted with the gnats, other bugs, musty smell, and bathroom situation, we decided to cut our weekend short. I spoke with the owner Doris) and explained to her that we intended to leave and ask if she would be willing to refund our money. I explained to her about the gnats and she stated that she simply would just spoon them out and that they were extra protein She was unwilling to negotiate any refund. Needless to say we were very disappointed with this bed-n-breakfast and hope that this review will prevent others from having the same experience.

Loooooved this place, and so did my dog lazer. Super cute and unique house. Lovely outdoor patio to have wine and beer which were offered to us at no additional charge. Alan was very nice and accommodating. Will comeBack next time I head to Shenandoah or wineries
