This place deserves 6 stars. Great hospitality with owner checking in to insure everything's tasting great. Food was amazing.
Chef Bojji is one of the most creative and skilled chefs in Rochester. He’s a natural when it comes to putting together food that provides the highest quality of dishes. Also, Amber and Youness are the most compassionate and friendliest human beings that you’ll ever meet. 5 stars all the way ????????!
Chef is amazing, knowledgeable, charming. Food is delightful. If you want steak, fish, chicken? Done, and done masterfully. Vegans, you won’t be getting the obligatory hummus wrap here! There are vegan and vegetarian options, and occasionally non vegan dishes can be altered deliciously. The weekend piano player is GD wonderful! His name is Sam, and yes, he can play As Time Goes By, and many other favorites. Do yourself a favor and reserve yourself a table here. I cannot overstate what a gem this place is. AND, if you’re very lucky or very smart, you might even order a port, which chef makes, and tastes like warm jam. This is one of the best restaurants I have EVER had the pleasure to visit!!
We were engaged here so maybe a little biased. That said every time we return we are not disappointed. Chef always makes the rounds and remembers us from that first time. He will ask about preferences and has customized the Chef's choice to our pescatarian diet. Also doing some great things for the community with free soup days and coat drives. Highly recommend!
I am so excited to write this review that I can hardly stand it! We were told by a family member that had just been there two nights before our first trip there on 6/30/20. Here is the catch: our family member lives in Iowa and was visiting the Mayo Clinic. We live in Scottsdale, AZ and were on our way to Lake Okoboji in Iowa for the 4th of July. So we land in Minneapolis on 6/30 and immediately drive to Rochester. We check in to our hotel and as we are begging to look for a place to have dinner, our family member tells we need to try this place and that we should order the Bouillabaisse. Lucky for us, they could fit us in. Upon arrival, we meet our server, Jake, who seats us at a nice corner table. We order a nice bottle of wine and the journey starts. We wanted the beet salad to start but had to request it with goat cheese due to my wife 's allergy. In most places, that request would have been shot own. Here-not a problem. It shows up and the presentation looks amazing but the taste is what blew us away. Fresh, delicious and amazing. Don 't go here and not try this, you will hate yourself if you do. We both decided to have the Bouillabaisse. It was exquisite and the freshness and boldness of the flavors left us speechless! I have never had anything like this. We left that night amazed on what had just occurred. After a week on the lake in Iowa, we decided to head back to Rochester a day early before catching our flight home just so we could try it again. 7 days after being there, we entered again and there was our server. Chef Bojji put us at the most comfortable table with high back chairs and we were off to the races. Appetizers had to include the beet salad again it I decided to try the Tiger Prawns. They were cooked perfect and were tender and obviously fresh. We both had the crab cakes. The outside was a nice crisp and crab inside was almost creamy. This was not a crab cake filled with filler with tiny bits of crab like most places. These were handmade and filled with crab, a lot of crab. I was doing more damage to the crab cakes than my wife so we asked the chef if he could make us a piece of salmon. We didn 't have to say another word. He delivered a perfectly cooked piece of fish with a beurre blanc sauce that left us wanting more. After dinner, we had an old fashioned to complete another exciting adventure and dining experience in Casablanca. We owe Jake and Chef Bojji many thanks for starting our vacation off and ending it with two of the most incredible meals we have ever had. We will be back even if we have to fly there just for another experience. The locals have no idea of what they have there...maybe they do. In that case, thank you for sharing this gem of a place with us.
