Seriously the best burger I have eaten in years, with a huge portion of delicious rosemary salted fries and a pot of cheese to die for. Thank god I don't live near here or I would be in every day. A member of staff at The Walnut Tree public house deserved to be thanked for her polite service She appeared very efficient was very well turned out and myself and colleagues thought she was an asset to the pubs staff and i would certainly return there again. He name I believe was Denise but beyond that I was unaware. It was a pleasure to be served by her Service: Dine in
Music extremely loud, couldn’t hear my parents talking, without having to shout, who were sitting opposite. Although the burgers looks good, don’t let it fool you (this happened to me). I got the chicken burger and was the blandest chicken I’ve tasted, and it wasn’t just the burgers as the tenders were bland as well. They had obviously tried to hide the bland taste by throwing everything they could in the burger to make it better (sauces, coleslaw etc) and cucumber?!? In the end it all fell apart and left it cause it tasted bad. “Loaded” fries came cold and barely loaded and the halloumi fries had some weird sticky sauce on them which ruined them. Overall, extremely underwhelming food as it looks so good but tastes so bland. Service was decent though, drinks were quick as was the food (probably why it was so bad) and in the end the near £70 bill for 3 people was completely unreasonable and the reason I now cannot sleep at night. Would have the be paid to go back.
First visit since the move to the other end of Rochester High Street. The space is bigger and fitted out in industrial style, which makes the room very noisy: quite a different vibe from the former cafe. The menu remains short: burgers, sides (including poutine and mac cheese), shakes, and other drinks; but good to see that the level of care and attention to detail remains high. Sad, also, to see the food channel videos are no more they were great .
