Great Wall Chinese - Rockford

The dining experience was very enjoyable and the portions were generous. The service was outstanding, and we were served quickly. Overall, we were very pleased. The atmosphere was fantastic.

May and the Zeng family have been running the Great Wall for over 40 years, and it truly feels like home when you walk in. I love the atmosphere, where I could almost kick off my shoes and socks, but I prefer to keep it cool and stylish in the evening. The staff at Great Wall goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest leaves completely satisfied after dinner. Whether you dine in or order takeout for your next Chinese craving, you won't be disappointed! For cocktails, I highly recommend trying the Blue Lotus. It's a fantastic fruity vodka mix that sets the perfect tone for a fun night in Rockford.

Finally a good Chinese restaurant! I've looked in Loves Park, Machesney Park, and Rockford! I had lost all hope of ever having good Chinese food again. Loved the atmosphere, and service. Try the Mai Tai.

I really wanted to like this place as it is locally owned but alas I was disappointed. I ordered crab Rangoon and sweet and sour chicken. The crab Rangoon was sooo much cream cheese no crab and it had a weird taste. I have had crab Rangoon from other places and it never tasted weird. We only ate 2 of them threw the rest out The chicken in the sweet and sour was very dry and tough. Just 3 green pepper pieces in the whole order. Decent amount of onions. A few carrots.The sauce was very thick as if it had been made and reheated several times. Sorry but this place is a hard pass for me.

I absolutely loved my experience here! The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. My family and I will definitely be returning.
