Hog's Breath Cafe - Rockhampton

My partner and I wanted to try something new and decided to order from Hog's Breath. We picked up our food on time and had a short drive home. We ordered a burger, rib filet, and some hot wings. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it was overcooked and tough to chew. The hot wings were small and dry. The mushrooms and sauce were okay, but not enough to make me want to come back. It felt like a waste of money. My partner enjoyed his burger, but he is easily pleased.

We ordered the steak and cheeseburger along with our other dishes, and I have to say it was not very good. I'm not sure what kind of beef cut was used, because it didn't taste like steak at all. The portions were small, and charging $2.25 for a small container of ketchup felt like extortion. I would not come back to this restaurant.

This restaurant experience was not enjoyable. The service was abrupt and slow, and the table was dirty with an unknown substance. My companions ordered the salmon for me, requesting it to be cooked less, but when it arrived it was overcooked and dry. It was so dry that I needed more water than usual to eat it. The potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes. Overall, it was not a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant was only half full due to COVID restrictions. Some kindness or friendliness from the staff would have been appreciated.

HI we call in a few times a year and always have. The owner is cool and the service when something is invasive. Over the years they have changed the menu and the way they offer pages and salads. I think the franchise has messed up with the menu long enough and you should go back where he started and get rid of the pretentious supplements. Let people enjoy your big steaks and they will let you know if there is a problem or they need another drink. To stop chewing is S....... you fill the empty.

Sadly today lunch was a failure. Opted for surf and turf special and thought I was in luck.....garlic sauce was hardly that, prawns small and tasteless as the calamari . First bite of steak it tasted off and slimey. Cut another piece and asked my...partner to smell it and confirmed it was off. Told the waitress and she replaced it. I opted for take away but gave it to my hound as I just couldn't trust it. Not expected from any food retailer . Poor quality control guys.
