It was literally just a bowl of leaves with something nooch? and sunflower seeds on the top with one side of the dressing that tart and had no other taste. It was very simple and the part was small for what we paid. I'm glad we were just looking for some light to follow us until dinner. Updated by previous rating on 2022-09-12
I hesitate to think about reviewing a plant-based establishment with only two stars, but my visit to Earth Candy really gives a need improvement assessment. We were the only two customers in the café on Thursday in February at 1:30. We ordered two packs, a soup and a salad. While the packs did not have to be prepared and assembled, the soup and salad seemed to be prepared. Each item was served individually at the counter as it was finished, and in all it took about 30 minutes for us to get all our food. The parts were very small. Everything is served in compostable (shiftable) containers. The Mock tuna salad tasted good and was the best we ordered, but the pack was about 6 bites of food, served on a small handful of spinach as the only vegetables. Thai packaging on a coconut pack, Pho soup and kale Caesar salad were not worth the money, and left me completely unsatisfactory. When the kale Caesar Salat arrived without the croutons indicated on the menu (vegan Caesar Salat always excites me), I asked about them after I tried for about 8 minutes to get the attention of the server. She showed me a bag of commercial crumbs and said she didn't have many left. I said I wish I knew that when I ordered, and she looked down, grunted oh, sorry, then she added a little egg in them, I hope it's okay. Earth Candy was listed on HappyCow as a vegan, so I thought everything was vegan. At least the server thought to tell me about the egg, I had called out my excitement at a vegan café when we first ordered it - it did not correct me at this point. Our whole visit was near an hour that was far too long for us, the only customers, the ordered items we could have prepared completely from home in less than this time. I'm not back to Earth Candy. There are much better options for my vegan taste and needs in other places in Rockland that are veg-friendly. I hate not being able to support a vegetarian business, but all about my visit to Earth Candy was unhappy.
Pleasant surprise to find an all vegan restaurant in Rockland Maine, just off the Main Street. Food is prepared to order. Great options. Wish we had tried more. Honest staff (croutons weren’t vegan). Family operated. Couldn’t tell if they also maintain a plant based diet, but obviously supportive and an advocate!
Wonderful customer service. we waited a bit (saw as if we were at the end of the hurry), but the child worked communicating, he had to wash a mixer and was so polite. I wish I had his name. also took my smoothie really fast. delicious. Thank you!
The acai bowls at this restaurant are delicious, making it a great spot for breakfast. The service is friendly as well.
