Poor Man's Country Club - Rockport

I love their shrimp poor boys. I do not like their close slaw as it has no seasoning or mayo.. it just taste like cabbage.

There should be a warning that SMOKING IS ALLOWED in this place. The food was okay, until the first disgusting plume of cigarette smoke made it's way to my burger. Had it not been for that, I might have enjoyed my meal, but not so much.

Skip this one. Smoke everwhere. This is a smoking restaurant. Bad experience. Overpriced very average food. Extra charge for everything. Weird horrible cole slaw. Bad experience on our vacation. Never again. We would have been way better off going to McDonalds across the street.

Stopped in on the way back from Sea Fair, as I saw they were open (irregular hours). I ordered a light beer and I was going to order food, but my waitress beat it out the back door. Then a bathroom break on the way back. Admittedly, they were busy, but no apology, nothing. I was practically finished with my beer, but I asked for the manager. She said, I'm the manager, with a smirk. I asked her to ring me up (for the beer) and left a quarter tip. On the way out, I warned a guy the waitresses were terrible. Now, I'm warning you.

We opted for takeout since Frodo is with us. Memorial Day weekend. The restaurant was not busy at 6:00 but probably too early for fishermen to come drown their sorrows. We both had tacos. I had the fish and my sponsor had shrimp. Pretty tasty, Lynelle McDowell Dye could only eat one. The interior was nice and allowed ample circulation space. I wish we could have dined in and enjoyed the atmosphere.
