My husband and I went to this restaurant on Monday night since we read great reviews from the Washington Post article. We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this place didn't disappoint! Every single course was delicious from the cod fritters to the squid ink paella. We enjoyed every bit and the wine paring our waiter recommended was simply delightful! We also tried the churros and gosh they were so fresh and warm. The waiter was amazing, food delicious and ambience transformed you to Spain. We can't wait to go back!
The service was pretty good, and the ambiente was also beautiful. we came here for a Sunday dinner and there were both inside and outside seats. some dishes were good: tortilla, churro, croquettes, meatballs and Shishito peppers, and some were okay: kartoffeln (probably too much mayo for me), ripen (not enough apple sauce they gave me more after I had asked) and speck wrapped termine (to burn). overall it is still a nice place to lunch. can be a bit pricy with drinks tho.
Where to start.... We were excited to come here for our anniversary. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. But it took another ten minutes for our waiter to even acknowledge us or bring over water and menu. Needless to say, the service continued to be subpar for the rest of our dining experience.Food wise, we ordered three Tapas and one paella. The lamb meatballs were super salty. The steak with olive chimichurri was good. The octopus with potatoes was a tad salty but done really well, delicate and not chewy with smoky Paprika. The Negra paella (black squid ink) was undercooked while the calamari was overcooked, chewy and rubbery. And the San Sabestian cheesecake, the main reason we came here, was overly burned. I understand it is supposed to be burnt, but this was a thick layer of char leaving a bitter, burnt flavor in the mouth.Needless to say, won't be returning or recommending this place unfortunately.
This place and so glad to see the success the resto is building with the locals. The food couldn’t be more vibrant and delicious, and the attentiveness of the staff brings the dining experience full circle. Our evening’s selections featured the beet salad, roasted carrots, a selection of cheese and meats, the bacalao fritters, calamari, patatas bravas, paella and churros. We chased away the heat of the day with a pitcher of the seasonal sangria that was loaded with fresh berries. Can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem in our neighborhood!
