We asked for a drink listed on the menu and were told We don 't have that. Then I tried to modify a different, standard drink by asking for less ice. Not a heavy lift, but I was told no. Please note, this was not a slush, just a Thai tea. Customer service gets 2 star because the person actually making the drink said less ice for Thai tea is fine, but the cashier was curt and just about rude. The drinks were fine, but not stellar. The boba were small and chewy not a great representation. I don 't recommend Gong Cha. There are much better in the area.
My visit to Gong Cha Bubble Tea was a major letdown. First off, their menu was a total mystery of what was available. Asked for the brown sugar ginger, we don 't have that anymore , asked for another drink, we don 't have that either , I had no clue what ingredients were available which made ordering a guessing game. And get this, you couldn 't even adjust the ice level in all the drinks! Plus, the boba was a complete disappointment small and overly chewy. It was like munching on rubber balls. To make matters worse, the cashier seemed to have missed the memo on basic customer service. Their lack of tact was palpable, leaving a sour taste in my mouth. The brown sugar latte was decent along with the thai ice Tea but they were both basic and not what I originally came for. Overall, Gong Cha Bubble Tea didn 't live up to the hype. The menu confusion, limited customization, subpar boba, and poor service were major turn offs. Save yourself the disappointment and explore other bubble tea joints that actually know how to deliver a satisfying experience.
I like Gong Cha but not this particular location. My boyfriend got a Mango Green Tea with 100 sugar and 30 ice and it tasted like plain green tea with no sugar. I could taste some mango syrup on the bottom of the cup but it was so little it might as well have not been there. I don’t understand how they got it so wrong??!! The only explanation I can come up with is that they read the sugar wrong AND they added the mango syrup as an afterthought since it wasn’t even mixed in properly. I used to work at several boba places and they all had this drink, so I know the steps in making it, and I can definitely tell they messed up. Restart the process if you f it up that bad!
This Gong Cha is one of the several food stands/vendors at the Spot, which is a predominantly Taiwanese food hall in Rockville Town Center. My friends and I decided to chill at the Spot after dinner and we all got Gong Cha to enjoy. The drinks we got were OK no one was super impressed or anything. I got the Green Tea with honey (with 75% sweetness, which was apparently the least amount of honey I could add? and I thought it was too sweet. It was definitely not worth paying $5.25 (pre tax for. There is a variety of warm and cold drinks, Asian inspired flavors. It's your typical Gong Cha and you can't really go wrong with it.
My number one place for boba, it never disappoints. Super fast made and consistent. Has seasonal drinks and is located in The Spot. So warm clean and comfy environment. Has the most toppings I ever come across in Rockville.
