Fins 'n' Fries - Rocky Cape

A simple takeaway fish and chip shop, but it was recommended by our AirBnB hosts as being the best on Straddie. I thought that it was average in terms of service, flavour, freshness, and servings. I had expected something more - perhaps fresher or greater/different variety to the mainland - because it was on Stradebroke Island. However, it was reasonably priced.

Chose this one as reviews looked good, and certainly didn't disappoint. Fresh local fish, crumbed to perfection, chips were yummo, and sauces were a great size. Wait wasn't long even though they seemed busy. Definitely check this out when your on the island!

We must have picked a good night as some reviews really bag this place. We had the tailor and chips and it was moist and beautiful and the chips excellent.

We went there to get fish and chips, by default, since the joint across the road, Cisco Philly Cheez, was closed. The Fish and Chips we got at Fins "n Fries were very good, fresh and very reasonably priced. The service was friendly.

We have been to Fins n Fries in the past and were not impressed - HOWEVER it has new owners and I am so glad we tried it one more time. It was he best fish and chips we've had on the island before at a really reasonable price. FINALLY we can have good seafood at the beach. Will be going back again!!
