Had dinner at famous wok. Price is reasonable and lots of choices too. A balance of deep fried stuff, BBQ and fried meat. I had the fried rice and like the texture of it.
This was our first time eating at the Famous Wok and in some ways we were disappointed. The food did not have a lot of flavour and vegetables seemed to be over-cooked.On a positive side, the portion sizes were large and the price was right. There is a good choice of other food outlets in this mall. If we are back, I think we would try one of the other food establishments.
I had rice and barbequed chicken. Very filling. Two of us ate for less than $15 (nothing to drink). Typical mall food court food, but still tasty.
Sometimes you are out and about doing errands or shopping and you end up in a mall. You get your typical choices of food and often they are hit or miss. I have had terrrible chinese food and quite good chinese food in a mall. I usually order pretty much the same stuff so the comparisons are consistent. On this occasion I found my food to be fairly good. The food sits in pans to be kept warm so service was quite fast. It needs to be as this is a very busy mall at times. The ginger beef was perhaps a little cold on some of the mouthfulls I had. Maybe it had not been in their "Famous Wok" for a while. Still no complaints from me. My wife ended up at "Arby's" they are pretty consistent. Anyway she tried my food and said she wished she had got the same as me. I paid by debit and the machine prompts you to give at tip. I have noticed this trend at other chinese kiosks. I would understand it if the food was delivered or was served by a waiter/waitress, but someone who doles my food into a little styrofoam container and puts it on a tray only to shuffelled from one employee to another does not get a tip from me. Sorry. Maybe someone who picks up a large order may leave a tip. However, I certainly would not stop on the way home to pick-up take-out from a chinese restaurant in a mall food court.
