My local friend had eaten there once before and felt confident my wife and I would enjoy it and it proved he knows us well. Five of us ate and spent just 108 euros for four three course menus, one two course, seven glasses of wine, one beer and three coffees. Our genial host enjoyed practicing his English with us and everything was delivered with a smile and a flourish. If you hate having to choose, as my wife often does, this menu is perfect. Changing each day, for us it was an entree, fish or meat as plat du jour, and dessert. Mozzarella salad, grilled chicken with superb carrot purée and a luxurious chocolate mousse. We dined outside and everyone else seemed to be having as good a time as the five of us. It may be off the main squares but Rodez is so delightfully compact you are a short walk from the cathedral, museums and shops. The toilet seat just topped it off Big Ben and a red phone box allowing me a farewell joke with everyone there. This is the type of lunch destination that makes visiting France so special. We drove an hour to be there and will happily do so again.
