We opted for a steak and it was really good, cooked medium to perfection, very nicely seasoned, baked potato and steamed broccoli all good too. The place itself is not going to wow you, and in fact might put you off a bit. I questioned it as I saw it for the first time, and yes the deck is rough, but you have a nice view of the river (and a horse farm next door). Like all places they have had to raise prices, but that is all over. If you like Roadhouse type places, this is your spot. If you are looking for more upscale dining, this isn't it. But, again the food we had was good. Just my opinion, it leans more toward being a bar vs a grill.
We ALMOST walked out.. but doing restaurants 20+ years.. sometimes it gets busy... Waited about 10 minutes till a server could greet us... 3 whiney kids, it late in kids time... oh it was close.. however, in the nick of time.. she arrived.. and perfect service the entire time... However... And I can't stress this enough..This place his a hidden hole in the wall, we found just by driving by not from around here and W.T.H. what I experienced, I still don't believe.. all the food looked appealing.. but in the bottom corner is this Chief Burger.. kinda hidden and I usually don't do burgers.. but the description looked tempting.. so why not..That KITCHEN is lit... Like the food came out in NO TIME... The burger looked perfect.. picked it up took a bite... And... how do I do it justice...If a hamburger was sold in heaven.. this is that burger..As you eat this burger you taste bun, ranch, lettuce, tomato, fried pickle, BBQ sauce, fried onion ring, patty, white American cheese, patty, bun..And it's a perfect blend.. each ingredient you taste, nothing overpowers anything and the hand pressed patty is star.. it's not greasy.. there is nothing over compensating because this burger is perfect.. I know unless I return to here, I will NEVER have a burger that perfect again.. and I heard it was created by the culinary department at the high school nearby... But I will admit.. it was recreated by some cooks who take pride in it..If you are the owner.. don't read this next part:This burger is WAY underpriced.. $13.99, I would pay $20 for it every time.Okay owner.. keep reading..I did the buffalo tots.. get them.. just do it.. crispy tots, melted cheese.. then ranch and buffalo sauce.. on top.. but because it was done in this way.. the tots didn't get soggy.. first to and last tot.. just a crispy.. I could live off these... Pay that $1 and go premium side..So glad I didn't walk out.. it was well worth the wait.. I would do it ALL over again..
Ate here tonight with 2 teenagers! Everything was fresh and delicious. Our waitress I believe her name began with a K was like the only waitress there and she did awesome! Will be back!
Waitress was sweet, but we waited over 45 minutes and never seen food come out of the kitchen to anyone the entire time we were there. The karaoke singer had a great voice, but the music was so loud I had to scream at my waitress for her to hear me. There was one customer so drunk, she howled like a wolf at the top of her lungs for over half an hour then was dancing in the door way. We ended up leaving and going to the Mexican restaurant.
ALWAYS has been ever time I been their good service an friendly.
