Seating area overlooks the lake and the views are very peaceful sunrises with breakfast coffee; or sunsets with a cool beverage are breath taking. Restaurant Staff were friendly and very attentive. Because of the time of the season, food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner were either the buffet or limited menu items. Our Server did offer to personalize our orders so that was an option. Personally, we are not much on buffets and we thought the value and the price of the breakfast buffet was a bit steep for the quality of the food and limited selection. Same with regards to the dinner buffet. The evening salad bar was nice and well stocked with a good variety of items, to include shrimp. The Chicken Wings and French Fries were tasty, as was the Shrimp dinner. Food is not of the best quality in relation to pricing, but understandably with the location inside the Lodge. Having the option for restaurant style food on site at Joe Wheeler State Park and at the Resort is an attraction. Big Plus and consideration when booking a stay we did take advantage during our stay and when we come back, will definitely have a meal or two at Daniella’s.

Didn't expect such good food or service. Waitress very friendly and efficient. The sweet potato fries were the best ever. Got a steak and cheese sandwich, was very good. Definitely want to stay at the Lodge, knowing the restaurant is so good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We love state parks and travel to them often around the country so when we were staying at the state park we decided to have a lunch here. First there is ample parking. It is located within the lodge area but is not well marked on the outside where to go. You go inside the aptly appointed lobby of the lodge/hotel and turn left to go downstairs to the lower level where the restaurant is located. We were quickly seated with a nice view of the marina and lake. We ordered a sampler of the apps which were good but standard greasy fare. We ordered bourbon and vodka/soda as there selection of beer is mostly cheap beer (Budweiser and coors). We ordered kids chicken strips, Mac and cheese, hamburger steaks with fries and veggies, and a Reuben. Most of the food was okay but nothing spectacular. Back in the 80s and 90s this lodge and restaurant would have been an amazing spot for grabbing some food. Now it is a bit rundown and outdated but quaint and enjoyable. We may return next time and just order veggies.
