Restaurant now runs under the name of Donna Sofia, but it is still the acquasalata. Food is average, prices are exorbitant. Be particularly careful with items that are not on the menu and offered as specials of the day. They cost outrageous amounts of money that are in no relation to the food quality or quantity (more than double the price of other dishes). Waiting times are too long. We won’t be back here ever.
Not sure how to start... Cause the staff is not friendly already, but I’m giving up to comment this as there’re too much need to say on food. So we have ordered 5 dishes and 2 seafood platters in total. Seafood Platter: Fresh and Sweet. Salmon Fillet: Super dry that I almost feel like I’m having a canned fish. Steak: They use too much salt and sauce to cover up the unfresh meat. We can’t even finish it, cause it is just way to salty. Quarter Chicken: Again, not sure this is the way that they cook or what, but it is just super dry and hard. It is just generally overcooked. Salad: I have never tried people serve me RAW AVOCADO! The texture just like dried mango peel and it tasted disgusting. Pasta: It is safe, normal and nothing special. FULL STOP. Bread: Giving a bread basket without the bread dish, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Not sure what they want us to do with it, or is the bread basket just for decoration? Hilarious!
We enjoyed the service and the fresh taste of the food at this restaurant. They served the wine cold which I especially enjoyed. Most of the restaurants we went to have us warm wine. They were very friendly. I would definitely go again.
Aquasalata is a small restaurant with outside seating in the busy street Via della Croce, 68/69. The team looks like family and runs the restaurant like clockwork. They are fast and friendly. Nice fish, pasta meat and other Italian based dishes. Good taste and good with the price.
