After a few days of some great though similar style Italian food the menu at ViVi was a welcome change. Located in a lovely building overlooking Piazza Navona we decided to eat inside though our table overlooked the square. We decided on a selection of starters (Tuna tartare, vegetarian spring roles and tempura prawns) accompanied by a recommended and enjoyable bottle of white wine. Service was fine and our bill for a light dinner came to €80 for 2. You can eat more substantially here with a varied and different menu it is a restaurant we would happily return to.
I was terribly disappointed with the food. The Guacamole was fermenting already when served. ABSOLUTELY NOT FRESH. I make Guacamole regularly and theirs was turning brown. Next came the ROYAL salad. Lettuce, thick tangy cream with Smoked salmon, bread and slices of avocado that were already turning black... they still argued that it was fresh produce see picture) . This is BELIW STANDARD food. And it’s a pity that many restaurants in Rome deserve our patronage as they serve way better fare than this. A terrible disappointment.
Luogo ideale per un aperitivo o un pranzo veloce...servizio lento
Staff was friendly and spoke English, sadly I'd say that is the view over food kind of place, yet still worth a visit.
