Feedback gevenAs English we tried to ask for a table for six and muddled through the menu using Google translate. Pretty much belittled by our waiter who spoke little English. Strangely we were met by an English speaking guy who Was pretty pleasant. We didn’t see him again. Seemed to be at the end of the queue for service. We were almost thrown a bag of bread (4 pieces for a table of 6. We were recommended this place by a kind Italian couple who dropped us there. I am sorry to say their recommendation fell short.
Very nice place, we ate outdoors and had basically meat for lunch. All types of meat were really good, well made and in more than adequate quantity. Service was very good, friendly and at the same time professional. Nice playground for the kids too!
My wife and I travel quite a bit and in the last 18 months we have been in 6 countries and 9 cities in Europe. After doing some research we had made reservations for what we thought would be a very nice dinner on our last day in Rome the evening of 06-25-2023. We arrived via Taxi about 20 minutes early and were happy to sit outside in the beautiful outdoor area. During our wait we observed several employees sharing disparaging remarks about other employees and displaying an overall bad attitude. We also discovered that we have no cell phone service. After we were seated, since we have very little Italian language skills, I had asked the waiter if he spoke English. He replied that he had very little English. The menu had no English on it so we spent some time with an app on our phones to figure out what we wanted. We also were each given a different menu; no idea what that was all about. We were having quite a bit of difficulty with the Menus but had reached a point where we had decided on what were going to order. I have an app on my phone that I can speak English into and it will repeat that I say in any language I wish, which in this case is Italian. I did this because the waiter had already said that he had very little English. When I did so the waiter became very angry and yelled at me “just say the words” and then asked if I was from the UK and muttered something about Brexit. After a rather awkward back and forth we finished our order. When we received our meals neither of us received what we had ordered and the steak that I received was cooked to the consistency of shoe leather; I ordered medium rare. Rather that confront the waiter that had already proven to be confrontational we finished what was provided and then paid our check. To make an already unpleasant experience worse the waiter and who we assumed was the owner/ manager refused to call a taxi for us and said “go to reception”. After showing my confusion, looking for a concierge desk, and then inquiring as to what he was talking about he pointed and yelled at us and said “go out the door take a right and walk 300 meters to the reception”. We followed his direction and found that there is another company down the way that rents cabins and there is a reception building. The very nice lady there called a taxi for us and shared her disgust with the management of the restaurant as well. Even though the entire experience was extremely unpleasant, the one thing I can’t wrap my head around is why would they not call a taxi for us, and send us to another place that we were not even a customer of. Lucky for us the woman there did not act like the folks at the restaurant as we would have had to walk for miles before finding another place to call as this place is rather remote.
