Jonny B. 's Tavern - Rome

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I can confidently say we will definitely return! We ordered Mozzarella Sticks as an appetizer, which came with our dinner, but that was no issue at all. The food was served piping hot and tasted incredible! The baked Schellfisch was flavorful and delicious, and the coffee was fresh and hot. The service was outstanding; the staff were very attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. As a former server, I often find that many places lack good service, but these ladies were exceptional. We will absolutely be back, and I highly recommend this place!

I started with the homemade chowder, and I must say it was one of the most delicious soups I've ever had. This isn’t from a can or a bag; it was homemade, fresh, and served piping hot! I ordered the Jonny B Sandwich, which comes highly recommended—and rightly so. It was light, crispy, and bursting with flavor. You could enjoy this for lunch, dinner, or even with some cold beers at the bar. For my side, I chose sweet potato fries with a cup of homemade ranch dressing for dipping. The fries were coated in an extra layer of batter, making them exceptionally crispy. Normally, I don’t care much for ranch dressing, but since it was homemade, I decided to give it a try. It was thicker and creamier than your typical bottled ranch, and I really enjoyed it. For dessert, I had the banana cake topped with a rich, creamy sauce made from scratch. It was absolutely decadent! It’s clear that Chef Jon Rennie is experienced and dedicated to quality. He selects fresh, high-quality ingredients, and much of the menu is freshly prepared each day. I am eager to return again and again to explore everything the menu has to offer. They have a great selection of favorite beers on tap, and the bar seems like a perfect spot to meet friends for a drink or catch a big game. I give it a 5/5 stars and will definitely be back soon!

We were really excited about their offerings, especially on Fridays, as they have an entire fish menu with plenty of options for your fish fry! I did see a complaint about them running out of fish, but it was their first Friday open, and they mentioned they are now better prepared for the expected demand. The food is outstanding, and I'm sure they'll operate more smoothly as they settle in, though I personally had no issues. With friendly waitstaff, great owners, nice bartenders, and excellent food, I highly recommend giving this place a try! 5 stars!!!

Fish fry was worth the 20-minute drive from Utica! 10 different fresh Haddock options!! The service was great and the food came hot and fast. Can't wait to go back and bring friends! And the Risotto, yum yum!
