I did notice the customers who ordered from the menu had completely different and better looking food options. So the problems... we were given bottled water in bottles that appeared to have the labels coming off and no lids. I then noticed regular customers received new sealed bottles. Another woman in our group, watched them refill out bottles with faucet water. Second, I previously requested dairy free meals for the trip and was brought a pizza with tons of sauce and mushrooms no one ever checked with me to see if this was an ok alternative. When I questioned why I received a mushroom pizza, they agreed to switch to match our group but hold the cheese. I was told the group was having pizza with salami do I received burnt pizza with tons of sauce and a little bit of salami. It tasted horrible! Our group instead received margarita pizzas. My niece who was at the table with me, received her with what she described as water down sauce and burnt crust. Thirdly, I noticed we were served completely by an Asian Indian staff but when regular customers started showing up, the staff switched to Italians. Needless to say I was completely disappointed with the entire meal! Again, note this review is based solely on their EF Tours pre planned meal at this restaurant (but they should be ashamed to have served a downgraded meal). Other meals I saw at the restaurant actually looked appealing and service was completely different.
Recommended to me and my parents by our Italian tour guide Simona, after the Baffetto original that she dropped us off at for lunch was closed. Excellent choice! They were able to seat us within ten minutes, though the restaurant was already pretty full, around 1:30pm on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. The interior of the place is casual, like something you would expect of a daytime pizzeria. But the pizza itself--Mama Mia! It was exactly what we were looking for when we went on a search for true Italian pizza. It had a crunchy thin crust with wonderfully flavorful cheese and sauce on top. I recommend pairing it with the house wine, which was also quite good and quite inexpensive. All of the prices there were very reasonable. Additionally, the service was very friendly. Our waiter made a good number of jokes to us while he took our orders. Would gladly return should I ever get the chance!
Came by for a quick lunch. The staff was friendly, food was good, and prices were reasonable. We ordered a buffalo pizza and an antipasto of charcuterie. The pizza was super thin and delicious as well as the charcuterie. The half liter of wine came in a quaint carafe. Overall, a good lunch spot.
Great discovery! one of our favourite meals in whole italy, we both go pasta to dinner of the house wine. reasonable price very good food! highly recommended.
Very courteous and fast service. atmosphere and flavors typical of the pizzeria/Roman trattoria.
